Malvern Manor (paving)Ruston Paving was contracted by Gumenick Properties to repave Malvern Manor, one of their beautiful properties just outside of The Fan District.  This is our first project with Gumenick, and we look forward to working with them again soon. The property manager was VERY impressed with all of our crews along with their attention to safety and efforts to keep pedestrian sidewalks cleaned throughout the entire day.  All the small things make a big difference.  Hats off to the crews and truck drivers – your hard work is noticed!

Plaza at Landmark (finished)Ruston Paving was contracted yet again by HHH Properties to perform repairs to the alleys at the Plaza at Landmark in Alexandria. We have been doing work at the shopping center for approximately five years, and this project included a full makeover of the rear of the center. Thanks to our crew members, we were able to safely and efficiently maximize production while still allowing deliveries to be made to the center.  This was no easy feat since the plaza is loaded with over 25 businesses!

We value our relationship with HHH Properties and appreciate their loyalty with Ruston Paving. We also value our crews who allow us to work so well with busy customers such as this. Beautiful work!

Happy Labor DayAccording to the US Department of Labor, Labor day was first celebrated in 1882 and  ”is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

Our employees certainly deserve that tribute! It is due to their efforts that Ruston Paving has grown to be the strong respectable company it is today. So to our employees, however you chose to spend your holiday weekend, please do it safely as you are truly our greatest asset!

Dominion Power (paving)Ruston Paving was recently contracted by Prestige Construction Group to pave an access road and parking area for the new Gas Transmission Building at Dominion Power’s Leesburg site. Our crews worked tirelessly to complete the project before some severe storms ripped through the area.

Preventing RollawaysEvery year, hundreds of accidents and injuries occur from rollaway vehicles in which a motor vehicle, after the transmission has been locked into a parked position, is believed to have rolled either forward or backward by the transmission purposefully or inadvertently moving or slipping into another gear position. Operators experiencing roll-away and/or runaways have been pinned by their vehicle, fallen under the wheels of their vehicle while chasing it down the street, or have allowed their unattended vehicle to strike members of the community.

In an effort to eliminate this preventable incident, Ruston Paving has added mandatory wheel chocks be placed on all our unattended vehicles and trailers. This is just one of the many facets to our safety program that serves to our make our job sites safer and protect our employees and the general public.

We Hire VeteransRuston Paving recognizes the values military service instills in our country’s veterans. It’s for this reason that we are committed to providing employment opportunities to former members of our armed forces. We currently have positions available in our NY, VA and NC offices for mechanics, drivers, equipment operators and laborers.

If you currently live in or would like to transition into the communities that surround our divisions, we would welcome you as valued member of our team. Please visit our Employment Page to apply today!

ROC ReferralsAnother couple rounds of applause were in order for Travis and Curtis as they both received their referral bonus when the friends they brought to Ruston Paving hit their one year anniversary.
We’ve said it before but it bears repeating, our employees are the best in the business and we’re always happy to reward those who make our team stronger!

Fort Lee Baptist ChurchRuston Paving was contacted directly by the Fort Lee Baptist Church, near the Richmond Airport, to reconstruct its parking lot.  A church representative gave us numerous compliments on the crews’ professionalism, work ethic, and safety measures.  He made a point to say that both our foremen took the time to answer his questions in the field and treated him with respect and courtesy, even when they were in the middle of something.  This type of courtesy goes a long way, and it did not go unnoticed.  Hats off to the crews – you are what sets us apart from our competition!

Cookout (finished)Ruston Paving was contracted by Qualified Builders to pave the new Cook Out restaurant in Mechanicsville.  We have completed numerous projects with Qualified Builders out of our Durham North Carolina division and are excited to extend the relationship into Virginia.

This project was on a fast track schedule and the crews worked above and beyond to get the job completed.  Nice work by everyone involved!

Willow Lawn (demo and grading)One of our grading crews is pictured removing some old landscape islands and preparing the new parking lot that we’re scheduled to pave. The Shoppes at Willow Lawn is always busy and is currently undergoing a complete exterior renovation and expansion. Part of the project involved adjusting the drive lanes to improve traffic flow.

Ruston Paving was contracted by L.F. Jennings, with whom we have a long-standing relationship throughout Northern and Central Virginia. Our North Carolina divisions have also worked with the owners, Federal Realty Investment Trust, on past projects. Everyone on this project has been impressed with our crews, quality of work, and attention to detail.
