Milling at Carrier20 years ago, one of our Syracuse paving crews resurfaced this entrance to Carrier Corporation’s East Syracuse facility. After many utility cuts over the years, Carrier finally decided it was time to mill out the old asphalt and repave it. Once again, we were happy to do the work.

Ruston Paving is proud of the work we’ve been able to do for Carrier year in and year out over the past 20 plus years. This would not be possible if not for the quality work performed by our crews – a tip of the cap to you all!

Clayton Arms AptsEarlier this year, our Rochester crews completed a project at French Creek Townhomes, a property managed by Eastwood Management. Based on the success of that job, Eastwood contracted with Ruston Paving again to mill and pave its Clayton Arms Apartments. We’re delighted to say that Eastwood Management has asked us to pave a third property for them later this season.

We’re proud of the relationship we’ve developed with Eastwood Management and look forward to continuing it for years to come.

Widewaters - pavingWidewaters - finished lot

In 2015, Ruston Paving paved two properties owned by Upstate Portfolio. Based on the success of those projects, our Syracuse division was contracted this year to work at 3 other properties on Widewaters Parkway in Dewitt. A great stretch of weather allowed for our crews to complete the projects with minimal interruptions to the businesses that work there. We heard from many people who remarked that our crews did a great job, and we certainly agree!

Kennametal (FDR)Ruston Paving was contacted by Kennemetal to reconstruct its aging parking lot. Over the years, the pavement structure had failed and there were serious drainage issues that needed to be addressed. After listening to the engineering manager on site, we suggested the full depth reclamation process. This process would provide a strong subbase and allow us to reshape the parking, thereby eliminating the drainage problems. The entire lot was then paved with two lifts of hot mix asphalt.

While on site, all of our employees noticed Kennametal’s safety banner touting 100 Reasons To Be 100% Safe. It’s nice to work with a company that shares Ruston Paving’s commitment to working safely!

Fort Lee Baptist ChurchRuston Paving was contacted directly by the Fort Lee Baptist Church, near the Richmond Airport, to reconstruct its parking lot.  A church representative gave us numerous compliments on the crews’ professionalism, work ethic, and safety measures.  He made a point to say that both our foremen took the time to answer his questions in the field and treated him with respect and courtesy, even when they were in the middle of something.  This type of courtesy goes a long way, and it did not go unnoticed.  Hats off to the crews – you are what sets us apart from our competition!

Fastrac Liverpool (paving)Ruston Paving revisited a customer this week, sending one of our Syracuse paving crews to the Fastrac Cafe at Moyers Corners in Liverpool. Back in 2000, we paved the original lot for this store’s grand opening.

Presently, the store is undergoing renovations to their building and the owners decided it was a prime time to touch up areas of the parking lot as well.

Snowing in NYFixing a Paver

The weather outside might be frightful – our Syracuse office wins the prize as over 3 feet of snow has fallen there in the past week. However, inside all our shops, our mechanics are diligently servicing and repairing our equipment as they prepare our fleet for the upcoming paving season. The construction season certainly takes its toll on all things mechanical. Thankfully our Ruston Paving shop personnel have the know-how to get things in tip-top shape.

United Rentals - Aerial YardThe aerial yard at United Rentals’ Herndon facility needed to be reconstructed and repaved. Because this lot acts as a main hub for all their Northern Virginia aerial lift equipment, hitting the project deadline was paramount. A portion of the lot was reconstructed in-place by using our full depth reclamation process while the rest of the area received a shim and overlay. Our Ruston Paving crews performed all the work in 5 working days to minimize disruption and get them back open for business.

Special thanks to United Rentals’ facility manager, who was able to take this picture from one of their man-lifts. Everyone at United Rentals was impressed with our crews and very pleased with the finished product. Great team effort all around to get the job done!

Glenwood Square (pulverization)Ruston Paving crews from our Durham division have been busy working on a 5 phase project at Glenwood Square Shopping Center. Due to the shopping center’s high traffic volume, we were unable to work or have any lots closed down on the weekend. The anchor store, Fresh Market, also sees a 35% increase in sales after Halloween, so we will not be able to work on this project after October 30th. Suffice it to say, this is a high pressure job that requires a coordinated effort from all involved.

We have used a combination of asphalt milling and paving in the interior roads and full depth reclamation in the parking lots to renovate the center. Unfortunately, fallout from Hurricane Joaquin dampened our ability to finish everything this season but we’ll be back in the spring to finish the final phase.

Brogan Manor AptsRuston Paving crews were at the top of their game while working at Brogan Manor in Auburn.  Repeat customer Celia Construction contracted our Syracuse division to complete milling and paving portions of three different parking lots in this 88-unit townhouse complex.

Part of a two-year renovation of the townhomes, this project was quite the undertaking. With our crews pushing full speed ahead, we were able to aide Celia Construction in finishing the project 3 months early!
