Twin Lakes (grading)Twin Lakes, a premier retirement community in the Burlington area, has been steadily expanding. This project marks the seventh project Ruston Paving has completed over the years.

This most recent work was performed by our Greensboro crews as we worked for WeaverCooke, who we are proud to say is also a repeat client of ours.

Preventing RollawaysEvery year, hundreds of accidents and injuries occur from rollaway vehicles in which a motor vehicle, after the transmission has been locked into a parked position, is believed to have rolled either forward or backward by the transmission purposefully or inadvertently moving or slipping into another gear position. Operators experiencing roll-away and/or runaways have been pinned by their vehicle, fallen under the wheels of their vehicle while chasing it down the street, or have allowed their unattended vehicle to strike members of the community.

In an effort to eliminate this preventable incident, Ruston Paving has added mandatory wheel chocks be placed on all our unattended vehicles and trailers. This is just one of the many facets to our safety program that serves to our make our job sites safer and protect our employees and the general public.

We Hire VeteransRuston Paving recognizes the values military service instills in our country’s veterans. It’s for this reason that we are committed to providing employment opportunities to former members of our armed forces. We currently have positions available in our NY, VA and NC offices for mechanics, drivers, equipment operators and laborers.

If you currently live in or would like to transition into the communities that surround our divisions, we would welcome you as valued member of our team. Please visit our Employment Page to apply today!

ROC ReferralsAnother couple rounds of applause were in order for Travis and Curtis as they both received their referral bonus when the friends they brought to Ruston Paving hit their one year anniversary.
We’ve said it before but it bears repeating, our employees are the best in the business and we’re always happy to reward those who make our team stronger!

Kennametal (FDR)Ruston Paving was contacted by Kennemetal to reconstruct its aging parking lot. Over the years, the pavement structure had failed and there were serious drainage issues that needed to be addressed. After listening to the engineering manager on site, we suggested the full depth reclamation process. This process would provide a strong subbase and allow us to reshape the parking, thereby eliminating the drainage problems. The entire lot was then paved with two lifts of hot mix asphalt.

While on site, all of our employees noticed Kennametal’s safety banner touting 100 Reasons To Be 100% Safe. It’s nice to work with a company that shares Ruston Paving’s commitment to working safely!

Snowing in NYFixing a Paver

The weather outside might be frightful – our Syracuse office wins the prize as over 3 feet of snow has fallen there in the past week. However, inside all our shops, our mechanics are diligently servicing and repairing our equipment as they prepare our fleet for the upcoming paving season. The construction season certainly takes its toll on all things mechanical. Thankfully our Ruston Paving shop personnel have the know-how to get things in tip-top shape.

Deep River Office ParkChildress Klein, one of the largest real estate firms in the Southeast, contracted Ruston Paving to remove the old pavement at their Deep River Office Park property  and install a new surface course. Once our crews assembled on-site and the existing pavement was removed, we found that the subbase lacked the proper strength and should also be replaced.

By using the full depth reclamation process, we were able to transform the deteriorated parking area into one that will last for years to come!
