Twin Lakes (grading)Twin Lakes, a premier retirement community in the Burlington area, has been steadily expanding. This project marks the seventh project Ruston Paving has completed over the years.

This most recent work was performed by our Greensboro crews as we worked for WeaverCooke, who we are proud to say is also a repeat client of ours.

Willow Lawn (demo and grading)One of our grading crews is pictured removing some old landscape islands and preparing the new parking lot that we’re scheduled to pave. The Shoppes at Willow Lawn is always busy and is currently undergoing a complete exterior renovation and expansion. Part of the project involved adjusting the drive lanes to improve traffic flow.

Ruston Paving was contracted by L.F. Jennings, with whom we have a long-standing relationship throughout Northern and Central Virginia. Our North Carolina divisions have also worked with the owners, Federal Realty Investment Trust, on past projects. Everyone on this project has been impressed with our crews, quality of work, and attention to detail.

Honda Aircraft Company, whose world headquarters is in Greensboro, needed to expand its adjacent HondaJet facility that develops, builds and sells planes. The expansion is expected to add 100 jobs by the end of 2015. BE&K Building Group, A Pernix Group Company, was the general contractor tasked with completing the building expansion and contracted Ruston Paving to add three parking lots to handle the additional employees.

Our Manassas division worked for the BE&K Building Group, then known as KBR Building Group, in 2014 on a project in Arlington, Virginia. KBR was so impressed with the quality of our work that they reached out to us for the HondaJet project and we were only too happy to continue to work together.

Advance Auto Parts (paving) Ruston Paving’s Syracuse division is hard at work as the summer and construction season heats up.  We were contracted by Westlake Development to complete the new construction of a parking lot for an Advance Auto Parts store in Liverpool that’s scheduled to open this summer.  Our crews completed the fine grading and paving of this large parking area in two days flat, keeping our schedule moving right along. Now the Advance Auto is ready to get those customers rolling in!

Costco's ExpansionRuston Paving was contracted by Gray Construction to perform some site work and asphalt paving for the expansion of an existing Costco in Greensboro. The expansion will make room for a larger produce section inside the building and provide some additional parking at this store that anchors the Shoppes at Wendover Village Shopping Center.

While we’ve still got more phases of the project to complete, we’ve received many compliments on our work thus far – fantastic job to all involved!

Embassy SuitesTwo employees from Ruston Paving’s Rochester division were recently recruited to travel south and assist with the Manassas division’s Embassy Suites project. Starting with a blank slate, this newly constructed hotel in Springfield, VA needed a parking lot created and prime contractor Balfour Beatty chose Ruston Paving to fulfill the job.

While enjoying a bit of spring sunshine, our workers were busy installing a stone base. After this, we will complete three phases of asphalt paving before finishing out the project. We certainly have our work cut out for us before the hotel opens this fall.

Fort MyerFort Myer

Pictured above are crews from the Manassas division of Ruston Paving working to complete the Fort Myer project in Arlington, VA. Lying adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery, Fort Myer is a military post that traces its origins back to the civil war. Our task here was to complete a reconstruction project. The scope of work included reconfiguring, regrading, and repaving the pavement sections to allow trucks easier access to the loading dock area. With winter winds still whipping in the air, our crews managed to get the pavement down and complete the job before the latest blast of snow hit the area.

Subbase Installation at Jubilee ChurchAfter the holiday break, our Durham crews were back onsite at the new Jubilee Christian Church.  We are once again proud to be working for Harrod and Associates Constructors.  Our forces were contracted to provide the stone base, curb and gutter, and asphalt paving at the Church’s new location.

In 2012, Harrod & Assoc. Constructors and Ruston Paving partnered on four different projects and have worked together for over 12 years!

Grading at GreystonePaving at Greystone

Ruston Paving recently completed Phase III of the construction work at Grey Stone Baptist Church.  The pictures above are of the Church’s new Legacy Center, which is a state-of-the-art child learning center.  On this particular phase, we were working for Bobbitt Design Build, and our scope of work included the placement of the stone base, curb and gutter along with the asphalt paving and striping.

The Legacy Child Enrichment Center was formerly known as the Grey Stone Christian Learning Center.  It was established in 1943 and is the longest continually running daycare center in the state of North Carolina.

Crews Heading SouthTrucks Heading South

With the first snow of the season on the ground in New York, most of Ruston Paving’s work in the Empire State is done for the year.  Such is not the case for our Virginia and North Carolina based divisions, which have plenty of work to finish before year’s end.  So, some of our Rochester and Syracuse crew members saddled up early Sunday morning and headed South to lend a hand.  A special thanks goes out to all of our employees who have offered to travel during these weeks prior to the holidays.  It’s all for one and one for all here at Ruston Paving!
